## VEDIC MATH'S PROGRAM

Mathematics is universally regarded as mother of all sciences. Mathematics unites and mediates between Man and Nature, inner and outer world, thought and perception. Still Mathematics is considered to be dry and boring subject by many people. Children generally show allergy to mathematics and dislike the subject. They are unwilling to learn the monotonous, long step method of solving mathematical operations.

Vedic mathematics is the collective name given to a set of sixteen mathematical formulae discovered by Swami Sri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji, who later became Shankaracharya of Govardhan Peeth, Puri. Though these are mathematical formulae, most of them are word formulae. Swamiji used Vedic as an adjective to his discovery of formulae because Vedic stands for fountain head of knowledge. It seems the word Vedic doesn’t have anything to do with four Hindu Vedas though there is parallel reference available in appendix of Atharva Veda. Complex mathematical questions which otherwise take numerous steps to solve can be solved with the help of few steps and in some cases without any intermediate steps at all! Methods of Vedic Mathematics are very easy and straight forward. So simple that most of the calculations are done in head, mentally. Vedic Mathematics appears, at first, to have a magical quality. When the methods are understood, it is unified mathematics. Swamiji said, “It is magic until you understand it and mathematics thereafter".

The product of the sum of the co-efficient is equal to the sum of the co- efficient in the We are living in the age of tredendous amount of competitions and Vedic Mathematics methods come to us as a boon for all the competitions. Present maths, a scary subject requires higher amount of effort in learning. Maths can be learnt and mastered with minimum efforts in a very short span of time and can be translated into a playful and a blissful subject with the help of Vedic Maths.

The simplest benefit of Vedic Mathematics is that it enables us to carry out calculations mentally (though the methods can also be written down). There are many other advantages in using a flexible system. Students can discover their very own methods; which leads to more imaginative, interested and intelligent students. Researches include studying Vedic Maths effects on children; developing powerful applications of the Vedic Sutras in different fields.

The ‘difficult’ problems or the time consuming huge sums can often be solved quickly and without any mistakes by using the Vedic method. These outstanding and fine- looking methods are merely a small part of an entire system of mathematics, which is way too methodical than the modern ’system. Vedic Mathematics manifests the logical and amalgamated structure of mathematics with the help of complementary, direct and easy methods. By doing the Vedic Maths course, a student can beat any type of competitive examinations after 12th.

## Advantages of Vedic Maths

The several advantages of Vedic Maths are:

- It reduces the burden of remembering large amount of stuff because it requires you to learn tables up to 9 only.
- It enables faster calculations when compared to the conventional method. Thus, the time that gets saved in the process can be used to answer more questions.
- It acts as a tool for reducing finger counting and scratch work.
- It plays an important role in increasing concentration as well as improving confidence.
- It is very simple, direct, totally unconventional, original and straight forward.
- It encourages mental calculations.
- Vedic Maths system also gives us a set of checking procedures for independent crosschecking of whatever we do.
- It keeps the mind alert and lively because of the element of choice and flexibility.
- It can introduce creativity in intelligent and smart students, while helping the slow- learners grasp the basic concepts of mathematics. More and more use of Vedic math can without any doubts generate interest in a subject that is generally dreaded by children.
- Vedic Math is simpler yet more interesting than regular Math.
- Vedic Mathematics enriches knowledge and understanding of Mathematics, which shows clear links and continuity between different branches of Mathematics.
- Vedic Mathematics methods come as a boon for all competitive exams (such as Management, Banking, Engineering etc.) as mathematic problems can be solved with amazing accuracy and speed.
- Vedic Mathematics being a most natural way of working can be learnt and mastered with ease and in a very short time.
- Vedic Mathematics system also provides a set of independent crosschecking methods.
- The element of choice and flexibility develops clarity of mind and intuition.
- Leads to improvement in mental ability, sharpness, creativity and intelligence.
- Problems are reduced to one-line answers.
- Reduces dependence on calculators.
- Vedic Math is complementary to regular Math taught in schools.
